■

Welcome to Adventuring with Ian & Brian. The site is built on the real life adventures of Brian, both physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. Ian is my alter-ego for fictionalizing my stories that involve other real people. Some stories are pure fiction labelled Ian’s Friends and Family but told by Ian Andcompany.Put your seat-belts on as the featured story below will introduce the kinds of life-changing adventure we are talking about.

Feature Adventure

Takes Two for a Fight

Many people feel it’s too risky to travel alone in foreign countries. I’ve never been one of them. Then… a mountain lion stepped onto the trail in front of me, and everything I thought I knew about danger changed in an instant.

About the Adventures

Our adventures are rooted in real places, real experiences, and the unpredictable moments that come with stepping off the familiar path. Some stories are told exactly as they happened, others are shaped a bit for impact, but all of them come from a lifetime of exploring the world with curiosity, humor, and a willingness to walk into the unknown. These are the moments that stay with you — the ones worth sharing.

About Brian’s Journey

My journey started early. Long before I traveled across continents or wrote about wild places, I was a kid who couldn’t stay still — exploring backyards, creeks, and anything with wheels or water. The first fish I ever caught without help felt like a victory, and the curiosity in these old photos never really went away. Today, that same spirit carries me into forests, mountains, and far‑off corners of the world, collecting stories along the way. That curiosity eventually carried me through more than 70 countries and into scientific career built around understanding the natural world.
