About Ian & Brian
Every adventure has two storytellers behind it — one real, one imagined. Brian is the traveler, the observer, the one who’s spent a lifetime exploring the world with curiosity and a willingness to step off the familiar path. Ian is the voice that helps shape those experiences into stories, especially when real people or sensitive moments need a little fictional distance.
Together, they create a space where real adventures and crafted narratives meet. Some stories happened exactly as written. Others are shaped for impact. A few are pure fiction, told through Ian’s Friends & Family. But all of them come from the same place: a desire to understand the world, connect with people, and share the moments that stay with us.
A Lifetime of Curiosity
Brian’s journey started early — exploring creeks, backyards, and anything with wheels or water. That curiosity eventually carried him across more than 70 countries, into remote forests, mountains, and communities, and into a scientific career built around understanding the natural world. The adventures didn’t stop when the workday ended; they simply changed shape.
Why We Tell These Stories
Travel isn’t just about distance. It’s about perspective. Every adventure — whether it’s a wilderness encounter, a cultural surprise, or a misadventure that goes sideways — teaches something. These stories are a way to slow down, reflect, and share what those moments meant.
Some stories are big. Some are small. All of them are true in the ways that matter.
